Baked Brie Cranberry Pecan (Printer-friendly)

Warm Brie topped with cranberry sauce and pecans, ideal for elegant appetizers or festive occasions.

# What You'll Need:

→ Cheese

01 - 1 (8 oz) wheel Brie cheese

→ Topping

02 - 1/2 cup whole berry cranberry sauce
03 - 1/3 cup pecans, roughly chopped
04 - 2 tbsp honey
05 - 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
06 - Pinch of sea salt

→ To Serve

07 - 1 small baguette or assortment of crackers

# How To Make It:

01 - Preheat oven to 350°F.
02 - Place the Brie wheel on a parchment-lined baking sheet or in a small ovenproof dish. Score the top of the Brie in a criss-cross pattern, taking care not to cut all the way through.
03 - In a small bowl, mix cranberry sauce, chopped pecans, honey, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.
04 - Spoon the cranberry-pecan mixture evenly over the top of the Brie.
05 - Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the Brie is soft and gooey in the center.
06 - Remove from oven and let sit for 3–5 minutes. Serve warm with sliced baguette or crackers.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • The contrast between hot, gooey cheese and cool, tart cranberry sauce creates this incredible temperature and flavor dance that keeps everyone coming back for just one more bite
  • It looks impressive but takes literally five minutes of hands-on time, leaving you free to actually hang out with your guests instead of being stuck in the kitchen
02 -
  • Once I tried to make this without the parchment paper and spent twenty minutes chipping hardened cheese off my favorite baking sheet, so please learn from my mistake and always line that pan
  • The scoring step seems fussy but I have learned it actually helps the heat penetrate more evenly and keeps all those lovely toppings from sliding right off during baking
03 -
  • If your Brie comes in a wooden box, you can actually bake it right in that box (without the plastic lid, obviously) for the most gorgeous presentation that goes straight from oven to table
  • The cheese keeps melting even after you pull it from the oven, so I usually remove it when it still has a tiny bit of structure left in the very center
