Chocolate Easter Egg Nests (Printer-friendly)

Crispy chocolate nests filled with vibrant jelly beans create a delightful, no-bake Easter delight for all ages.

# What You'll Need:

→ Dry Ingredients

01 - 3 cups crispy rice cereal or shredded wheat, crushed (75 g)

→ Wet Ingredients

02 - 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (260 g)
03 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (28 g)

→ Decoration

04 - 1 cup jelly beans or candy-coated chocolate eggs (150 g)

# How To Make It:

01 - Line a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners or lightly grease with nonstick cooking spray.
02 - Combine chocolate chips and butter in a heatproof bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each burst, or melt using a double boiler until completely smooth.
03 - Add crushed cereal to the melted chocolate mixture. Fold gently until all pieces are evenly coated.
04 - Divide mixture evenly among prepared muffin cups. Use the back of a spoon to press down and create a deep indentation in the center of each nest.
05 - Refrigerate for 30 minutes or until nests are firm and hold their shape completely.
06 - Remove nests from the tin. Arrange 3-4 jelly beans or candy eggs in the center depression of each nest.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • They come together in under 20 minutes with zero baking required
  • Kids can practically make them themselves with just a little supervision
  • The combination of crunchy and creamy is absolutely addictive
02 -
  • Work quickly once the cereal is mixed with chocolate or it will start to set and become difficult to shape
  • The indentation needs to be deeper than you think because the jelly beans take up more space than expected
03 -
  • Use a cookie scoop to portion the mixture evenly and keep your hands clean
  • Let the chocolate cool slightly before mixing so the cereal stays crunchy
